312 days. That’s 7488 hours. Or 44 weeks and 4 days.

That is the amount of time that had elapsed between Coventry’s first ever BUKC triumph at the end of the 2014 season and the 2015 season opener; and finally, after three test days, sometimes less-than-ideal weather, and the biggest qualifying round in the history of the championship, the 2015 season was here. Rye House in Hertfordshire was the venue, ‘cold’ was the weather, and it was dry! In the middle of a British winter, no less.

Both applicable, and the tears were streaming down everyone’s faces as the realisation dawned on them that the weekend of racing ahead of them was the last in the BUKC season 2014. The venue? Clay Pigeon Raceway in Dorset. The championship showdown? Exciting. The weather? British.

Amongst car enthusiasts, the Evo Triangle has legendary status. This trio of roads in the North of Wales is well known as one of the best driving spots in the entire country, and it seemed appropriate that the BUKC should visit this hallowed ground.

Fortunately enough, someone built a kart track just off one side of the triangle, so here we are, at Glan-Y-Gors circuit in Northern Wales, for rounds 5 & 6 of the British Universities Karting Championship 2014.
