Announcing a special event for students who have yet to race in the BUKC - the BUKC Fresher's Cup!
It takes place at Whilton Mill in the afternoon of Thursday 30th March running on Whilton's fleet of Sodi RT8 karts.
Who is it for?
This is a special event for students who have not yet raced in the BUKC. It is designed to give experience to drivers who have not yet competed in competitive karting before and would like to be part of the team.
It is designed to get more people in the clubs and societies racing other unis and taking part allowing them to gain experience to compete at a higher level
Where & When?
The event will take place at Whilton mill on the afternoon of Thursday 30th March which is the weekend of the BUKC finals.
The karts are the Sodi RT8 karts which have enough power to get blood pumping but the power is manageable even for the novice driver: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWD_f4RM35w
What is the format?
Teams will be made from 3 drivers driving as a team.
The format of the race will be a 30 min practice qualifying then an hour and a half race which includes pit stops for driver changes.
Each team will have to complete a minimum of 3 pit stop. It is down to each team to decide when to pit for the driver changes.
The event will take place on the Whilton Mill's International track - the same layout as we will be using for the whole weekend of the BUKC finals!
What else should I know?
Every team competing will be invited to the BUKC party on the Friday evening after the mains championship. Not to be missed!
The winner of the event will grant the team either a free entry into the BUKC Rookie Championship finale on Saturday 1st April on the BUKC / Club100 2-stroke karts or or a reduced entry fee to the BUKC 24-hour event.
The event costs £150 per team.
